The Important Role of Water with Top dressing.
For maximum results, gardening should be smart. One should also
put water to its maximum and most cost efficient use. It is
necessary to plan for a premium use on your water while keeping
conservation measures at the same time. This will require a
multipronged attack. A strategy would be soaker hoses and also drip
irrigation lines. These two allow for a slow release of moisture.
They also curb runoffs and any drift problems as is common with use
of sprinklers.
The most advisable time to irrigate would be early in the
morning. Doing this in the morning gives more chance for the water
to be absorbed by your plants at least before the day starts to warm
up and steals it. It is best to water down any of the composted
parts or areas first. Next, sow cover your crop seed, rake it in,
then tamp it down. Do this with the flat side of your steel rake.
Cut down the cover crop when you find that it’s already mature. You
must do this while the crop is still crisp. Leave it (or dig it in)
still on the soil for it to mulch against the weeds and any moisture
loss. This also stabilizes soil temperatures.
For ensuring a boost of nitrogen in soil beds, you can plant
cover crops that are leguminous. If in case you would be planting
annual edibles, like vegetables, it’s best to plant them near your
house or in areas where easy watering will be the case. An example
would be planting near hose bibs. If your garden becomes swept away
due to dry winds, try to put up fencing which is porous and also
winnows the winds. You can in stead choose more sheltered sites for
your planting.
It is always best to pick immature fruits off your fruit trees
within the first 2 or 3 years of planting. This way, energy (of the
trees) is more particularly coursed through towards a strong root
development system.
You should always remember to do this during periods of drought,
that is, if you really want to produce sweet and large fruits. They
need lots of water and plant energy. When water is lacking, plants
are prone to frequent scorching. Avoid this by sheltering your
marginal plants. Use shade cloths and other materials for screening.
We here at Top Dressing Atlanta recommend to consider a
topdressing and aeration application at least once a year.
